COURSE CONTENT

The Level 3 Training Assessment Quality Assurance course designed for those who are relatively new to assessing and would like to develop their knowledge and understanding of the basic principles and practices.

The course is applicable to the majority of sectors, whether you work with employers, in further education, in adult continued learning or in the third sector, this course will provide you with a recognised qualification opening up the door to further progression routes.

The qualification is achieved via the below routes:

Unit 301 – Mandatory Unit

A knowledge-only based Award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or for those who need to know about assessment principles but who are not currently practicing e.g. a starting point for aspiring assessors or a professional development qualification for managers, human resource or quality assurance personnel.

Unit 302 – Optional Unit

For practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment using the following assessment methods: observation, examining work products, oral questioning and discussion, use of others (e.g. witnesses), learner statements and recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Unit 303 – Optional unit

For practitioners who assess skills in simulated vocational related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The qualification is assessed through knowledge based written questioning, observation and portfolio based evidence.
