Jenna Wright and Ngan Le are currently completing their Dental Nursing Apprenticeships at Seaham Smiles Dental Surgery. The duo recently visited Middlesbrough College to refine their practical skills through a series of workshops, each focusing on different aspects of the dental nursing role.
We had the opportunity to speak with Jenna and Ngan about their experiences on the apprenticeship programme so far.
Jenna said: “I always wanted to work with people and knew I wanted to be in the healthcare industry, but I wasn’t sure which area was best for me. I then came across dental nursing, and it seemed like the perfect fit! Now that I’m doing this apprenticeship, I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.”
Ngan said: “I was looking for a new job when my friend introduced me to the Dental Nursing Apprenticeship. I work with such a lovely, positive team, and helping people with their smiles makes me feel really good about the job!”
Both Jenna and Ngan plan to stay in the industry after completing their Dental Nursing Apprenticeships, with aspirations to become hygienists.
When asked what advice she’d give to someone thinking about a Dental Nursing Apprenticeship, Jenna said: “If you’re thinking about a career in healthcare, you should definitely consider dentistry – you won’t regret it!”
