Level 4 Civil Engineering Senior Technician Apprenticeship

Duties could include:

• Propose civil engineering solutions by preparing and presenting engineering diagrams and documents.
• Deliver technical solutions by evaluating data and using appropriate engineering methods and calculations.
• Manage tasks and supervise team members, ensuring resources are used effectively and projects meet specifications, budgets, and timelines.
• Contribute to system designs, ensuring they meet user needs and industry standards.
• Use practical skills to select and apply materials, equipment, and technologies for civil engineering activities.
• Utilise software like CAD and BIM for analysis and management of engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare requirements, applying safe systems of work.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks in projects and activities.
• Comply with policies, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
• Practice sustainable principles and comply with environmental policies, contributing to UNSDG and net-zero goals.
• Use quality and information management systems for continuous improvement.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Work independently and as part of a team, taking responsibility for own work and supervising others.
• Ensure compliance with equality, diversity, and inclusion standards.
• Maintain and develop skills through continuous professional development, promoting its benefits.

You must have achieved GCSE English language and maths at grade 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2. Individual employers may also set their own requirements.

After completing this apprenticeship, you can progress into Higher Education or seek employment in roles such as Construction Technician, Civil Engineering Technician, or Junior Site Technician.
