Software Developer Apprenticeship – Level 4

Interpreting given software development requirements:

• Software development life cycle
• Software development methodolgies
• Algorithms
• Logic and data structures
• Create logical and maintainable code
• Build, manage and deploy code into the relevant environment
• Problem solving

Employment in a Software Development job role is essential. If required, Northern Skills will work with applicants to help find a suitable employer where possible but we advise anyone looking to undertake an apprenticeship to actively seek employment for themselves. Applicants are required to have gained GCSE grades of C or above (Grade 4-9) in English and maths. Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment.

Assessment of portfolio building throughout the apprenticeship. End point assessment consits of:

• Work-based project report with questioning
• Professional discussion underpinned by portfolio

Full time employment in a Software Development role. For example:

• Application developer
• Software developer
• Web developer
