Plumbing & Heating Occupations (Domestic) Apprenticeship – Level 3

• Understand and carryout electrical work on domestic
• Plumbing and heating systems
• Understand and apply domestic cold water system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance
• Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance
• Understand and apply domestic central heating system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance
• Understand and apply domestic sanitation system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance install, commission, service and maintain domestic plumbing and heating systems
• Maintain gas water heating and wet central heating appliances
• Specific core installation and maintenance
• Gas safety principles for natural gas within domestic building services
• English and maths up to Level 2
• ICT
• Employment rights and responsibilities (ERR)
• Personal learning and thinking skills (PLTS)

4 days with your Employer and 1 day at College, per week.

• Employment in a suitable role for the chosen apprenticeship is essential. Northern Skills Group will work with applicants to help find a suitable employer where possible but we advise anyone looking to undertake an apprenticeship to actively seek employment for themselves.
• Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE grades A-C). Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment. If proof cannot be produced or you do not meet these entry requirements then applicants will be invited to complete an initial assessment prior to acceptance.
• An interview will take place.
• If you do not have a grade A-C in English and/or maths (grade 7-4 for new GCSE measures) you will be required to continue studying these subjects.

The NVQ Diploma is assessed on practical assignments, unit end tests and an online exam.

At the end of the programme, Apprentices will have achieved the Construction Skills NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating.

Apprentices will also have the opportunity to complete English and Maths that will help develop important skills – like communication, team working, presentation and problem solving.

On completion of the Plumbing and Heating Occupations Apprenticeship at Level 3, Apprentices can go into other industrial occupations, building supervisory and management roles within the Construction Industry.

Apprentices are not liable for fees as these will be covered by your employer.
