Jordan Whelpton was awarded Rising Star of the Year at the Northern Skills Apprenticeship Awards 2023. Whilst completing a level 2, 3, and 4 apprenticeship with Northern Skills, Jordan has shown great enthusiasm and now is studying at a degree level in Quantity Surveying, supported by his employer, Intelect. During the ceremony, award presenter Pete Donnelly commemorated Jordan’s strong work ethic and how his clear ambition has helped grow his career opportunities, becoming a shinning example to other apprentices.
“To be recognised for my achievements over the last 4 years is truly an honour and this wouldn’t have been possible without the support from my tutors and my employer. Leaving school with hardly any GCSEs, I thankfully discovered an apprenticeship and now this has allowed me to progress to a degree.
“My advice to anyone unsure what to do is to complete an apprenticeship. The possibilities are endless.”
