I started my apprenticeship journey with Northern Skills in June 2018 on the Level 3 Dental Nursing Apprenticeship. During the two years of learning with Northern Skills I developed many transferable skills for my job role, I had great support from my tutor and Northern Skills throughout and the work, study and life balance was very manageable which was great. During my apprenticeship the world was devastated and put to a stand still with COVID-19, however this did not stop the progress and a group we overcame difficulties of learning online and managing observations remotely. In 2021 I was delighted to win the Overall Apprentice of the Year award at the Northern Skills Apprenticeship Awards.
I am now the Practice Manager at the Dental Practice. I couldn’t have completed this journey without the support from Northern Skills and I am very thankful to the whole team that led me through it. I would say the main highlight of the apprenticeship was demonstrating my skills and knowledge to a range of people and winning the Apprentice of the Year Award.
