Level 3 Mechanical Engineering

Cameron Richardson joined Middlesbrough College as a school leaver studying Level 3 Mechanical PEO. When Cameron passed his course successfully, the College reached out to him to apply for a Level 3 Mechanical Engineering BTEC apprenticeship.

Cameron said “I was happy that I got the apprenticeship, I was hoping to gain one at the time so that I could start earning alongside a qualification. Looking back, I’m glad that it worked out and I didn’t go down the university route as I would rather be practical as I am learning. I would recommend to anyone thinking of it, to go for it!”

Cameron recently finished his apprenticeship in July and gained Distinctions across the board! As well as gaining a full-time position as a Mechanical Technician with the estates team in Middlesbrough College. His day to day involves various upkeep and repairs across the college I systems such as cooling, heating, water systems and more!

“My ambitions are to keep gaining qualifications and work my way up in the industry, and hopefully become mechanical lead!”
