Food and Beverage Team Member Apprenticeship – Level 2

The course will cover aspects of:

• Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
• Work effectively as part of a hospitality team
• Give customers a positive impression of self and your
• Organisation
• Prepare and clear the service area
• Maintain and deal with payments
• Serve alcoholic and soft drinks
• Serving food to the table
• Maintain and deal with payments
• Serving food to the table
• Function service
• Prepare and service hot drinks using specialist equipment
• Employment rights and responsibilities

Learners will spend 4 days with an employer and 1 day at Middlesbrough College per week.

• Employment in a suitable role for the chosen apprenticeship is essential. Northern Skills will work with applicants to help find a suitable employer where possible but we advise anyone looking to undertake an apprenticeship to actively seek employment for themselves.
  Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades A-C).
• Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment. If proof cannot be produced or you do not meet these entry requirements then applicants will be invited to complete an initial assessment prior to acceptance.
• An interview will take place.
• If you do not have a grade A to C in English and/or maths (grade 7-4 for new GCSE measures) you will be required to continue studying these subjects.

Skills are assessed in the work place and through a portfolio of evidence, on line testing and a portfolio for key skills with an end test.

Following successful completion, learners can progress to a Level 3 apprenticeship.
