Award in Parametric Modelling (7689-01) – Level 1

Modules offered may vary.

Modules include:

• Using Associated IT, CAD Hardware and Operating Systems
• Using Basic File Management Techniques and Maintaining Health and Safety Requirements
• Understanding the Parametric Modelling Process, The User Interface and How to Access Help and Tutorials
• Using a Range of Commands to Create and Constrain Sketches
• Using a Range of Commands to Produce Extruded and Revolved Features
• Using Placed Features to Modify Parametric Models
• Using Methods to Create Assemblies
• Using the Drawing Layout Environment to Produce Hard Copies

Various start dates available. Students will study Thursdays, between 5pm – 8pm.

Applicants should have a basic working knowledge of computers.

This qualification is assessed through an end of course practical assessment demonstrating the use of software to produce models, assemblies and drawings. You will also complete a short answer written test.

Upon successful completion of the course, students can progress into employment or onto a Level 2 qualification in engineering.
