Appamondo are adding a new addition to their team due to success with their most recent business administration apprentice, Geordie Devaney, who has proven that investing in apprenticeships can help mould star staff for their business.
The technology service provider, who work with globally recognised brands from it’s base in Middlesbrough’s flagship BOHO One building, were keen to grow their existing team, and after speaking with Northern Skills Group decided recruiting an apprentice was the best way to do that.
Director, Rick Hutchinson said of the process:
‘After reviewing a few providers, what stood out was the flexibility of NSG’s approach. They were keen to work with us, applying our process to help find the right addition to our team.’
‘We’re supportive of growing our team, and an apprentice seemed the ideal way to induct a new member of staff who would be free from preconceptions of how our industry works.’
Since day one, Geordie has fit in with the Appamondo ethos and worked hard to ensure he not only achieves his qualification but also makes the best possible start to his career. Geordie’s dedication has certainly paid off with the team at Appamondo progressing him to a new role within the business; one where they can make the most of the new skills he has developed.
Kerry Charlton, Operations Manager at Appamondo has played a key part in Geordie’s development:
‘We’ve seen significant progress across Geordie’s two apprenticeships. Not only academic improvement but by working with us on a wide variety of projects, a real improvement to his client handling and core business skills.’
Geordie has also found the whole experience extremely rewarding:
‘Since joining Appamondo almost three years ago, I have developed a vast array of skills which have benefited me in the workplace.’
‘Apprenticeships are a great way to push yourself further into the world of work, but you need to prove that you’re the right candidate and be ready to work hard to make the most of the benefits an apprenticeship has to offer in terms of career development.’
