Award in 2D Computer Aided Design (7689-04) – Level 2 (CAD)

Modules offered may vary.

Modules include:

• Using AutoCAD in a 2D environment
• Use Basic File Management and Maintain Health & Safety Requirements
• Use and Identify Key Components of the Software
• Use a Range of Viewing Commands and Set Up Drawing Space
• Use Drawing Commands to Produce Shapes
• Use the CAD Software’s Co-ordinate System to Aid Accurate Drawing
• Use Hatch, Text and Simple Dimensioning Routines

Thursday, 5.30pm – 7.30pm

You must have a good standard of literacy and numeracy skills.

You must be computer literate and have some understanding of basic engineering drawings.

2 practical assignments and a short answer written test.

You can progress onto the award in Auto CAD (2D CAD) – City & Guilds Level 3.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.
