Northern Skills Group's Apprenticeship Academy offers a range of pre-apprenticeship programmes to help boost your chances of securing an apprenticeship. Regardless of your work experience or qualifications, we can provide support through a tailored programme to get on the right track to an apprenticeship.

Advanced Pre-Apprenticeship

Our Advanced Pre-Apprenticeship programme helps prepare you for the world of work prior to your full-time apprenticeship with Northern Skills Group. The programme will help develop and perfect key employability skills such as interview technique, networking and presentations as well as focusing on key vocational skills related to your chosen industry. 

To be part of this programme you will:
  • Hold a GCSE English and maths grade D/3 or FS Level 1 for Business Admin, Customer Service, IT, Hospitality or,
  • Hold a GCSE English and maths grade C/4 for Engineering, Accountancy & Dentistry apprenticeships
  • Have applied for an apprenticeship with Northern Skills Group

    Intermediate Pre-Apprenticeship

    Intermediate Pre-Apprenticeships are for those who are passionate about starting an apprenticeship but do not have one of the required English or maths grades. Our intermediate programme will help you gain hands on experience in a work environment and reach your desired qualifications in English or maths. The programme will also help you develop key vocational skills in your chosen industry such as business admin, customer service, digital, engineering , IT or social media.

    To be part of this programme you will:
  • Not hold GCSE Grade C/4 or above in either English or maths
  • Be unemployed and aged 15 - 29

    Entry Pre-Apprenticeship

    Our Entry Pre-Apprenticeship programme is a 6 week employability course designed for those who have no work experience and are lacking both English and maths grade C or above. The 6 week programme addresses key skills such budgeting, being digital savvy and effective job search.

    To be part of this programme you will:
  • Not hold GCSE grade C/4 in both English and maths
  • Be unemployed and aged 15 - 29
